MADRISA TRAIL KLOSTERS PRESENTED BY LOWA

SECOND EVENT YEAR FOR LOWA AS MAIN AND NAME SPONSOR

27.03.2024 | 27.03.2024 | After the successful kick-off year 2023 for the Jetzendorf-based outdoor specialist as the main and name sponsor of the Madrisa Trail Klosters presented by LOWA, the partnership is entering the next round. For the first time, four distances amidst an unrivalled mountain and natural backdrop mean that fans of alpine trails will be in for a treat and experience trail adventures at their finest.

A successful start

The Madrisa Trail Klosters 2023 presented by LOWA more than lived up to its reputation as one of the most spectacular trail running competitions. With 326 starters, the event recorded an increase in participation of more than 30 percent compared to the previous year. The highly challenging T54 distance even saw an increase of 40 per cent.

The new partner LOWA was also highly satisfied with their debut in Klosters: « This is the right run for our shoes, » summarised Christian Zingg, CEO of LOWA Switzerland. Zingg himself successfully finished the T24, as well as several LOWA Trail Racers athletes and employees who celebrated their competition debut at the Madrisa Trail Klosters.

By supporting this event, the outdoor company is creating visibility for its new, high-quality trail running product family and showcasing the brand with the new ATR models prominently in the Swiss canton of Graubünden on an international level.

Grandiose natural scenery meets spectacular trails

For the first time with four different distances, the competition will be held on 9 and 10 August 2024 in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. In addition to the well-known T24 and T54 trails, there are two new routes in the portfolio this year: T11 and T33. The T11 is a short, 11-kilometre run with great views over Klosters, which is particularly appealing to trail running beginners. The T33 requires technical skills in alpine terrain. There is no room for boredom on the varied route, which is 90 per cent trail. A breathtaking view awaits trail runners, especially at the highest point of the route – the Rätschenjoch. The tried-and-tested T24 scores with its varied 360-degree panoramic trail and with the crossing of three suspension bridges. The T54 is perfect for anyone looking for a trail running challenge. The longest distance also marks the supreme discipline of the Madrisa Trail and leads runners over 4000 metres in altitude and four peaks up to the Rätschenhorn against a spectacular backdrop and fantastic panorama.

LOWA Trail Racers Team well represented

Several LOWA Trail Racer athletes competed in 2023. Sandra Saitner, who came second in the Master Woman category at the T24 Trail, was delighted: « The event is super professionally organised and still has a familiar atmosphere. I love trail events that have retained this atmosphere. The size of the event and the spectacular backdrop make the Madrisa Trail an absolute must-join event for me. » Now it’s time for the next challenge: « After the T24 last year, I really want to tackle the T54 route. The technically demanding and attractive scenery of the route is particularly appealing to me. »

Selina Bebi also took part in the competition last year and came third in the women’s category on the T24 Trail. « What particularly appeals to me about the Madrisa Trail are the varied trails through the beautiful mountain landscape. This makes the competition a perfect mix of sporting challenge and pure enjoyment ». « My highlight from the Madrisa Trail 2023 was the »LOWA Sprint" on the T24. A challenge that pushes you to your physical and mental limits."
